PURPOSE OF QUALIFICATION
African Institute is committed to promoting the up-skilling and competency of nurses working in specialised nursing care units. This neonatal care programme is a peer reviewed and endorsed Bettercare learning programme which runs over 8 weeks and comprising of 1 class day and 1 clinical accompaniment day per week.The contact sessions will be at African lnstitute’s state of theart facility in Pretoria.Our clinical and expert facilitators will visit these students at their respective hospitals to mentor and ensure that the students develop the competence required for special neonatal care.
TARGET GROUP
This is a skills development programme and does not lead to a Specialist Nursing qualification in NICU and is aimed at nurses needing to update their skills or who do not have a qualification in NICU.
Registered nurses:
– Working in NICU without a formal qualification
– With a formal qualification wanting to update their skills Institutions wanting to upskill their nursing team to ensure a pipeline of skilled nurses who can work safely in the NICU environment
REGISTRATIONS
Students will receive a Bettercare Newborn Care textbook manual as well as have access to the Bettercare online platform for video clips etc.
